Thomas was born on 6 August 1837 in Leschenault, Western Australia.[1] He is the son of Patrick Larkin.
He married Mary McCourt in Latfield in 1865.[2]
He was listed at Vasse by Salvado in 1854. Thomas was a farmer and grazier in Vasse in the 1860s and 1870s. He applied for 25 acres in 1854 in Sussex district and 40 acres in 1867 at Blackwood. He employed four Ticket of Leave men 1860-1869.[3]
