Biography

Hans Larsen was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.

Hans Peter Larsen was born on February 25, 1862, to Ellen Margrethe Nielsdatter, age 22, and Lars Peter Larsen, age 30, in Norrevaenge, Denmark. He emigrated from Denmark as a baby with his family on the ship "John J. Boyd" with a group of 776 emigrants, mostly Mormon pioneers. The voyage lasted 29 days, landing April 1863. The family settled in Mendon in Cache County, Utah, later moving to Rock Creek, Idaho, in 1877, where his father secured 160 acres and built a log house for his family.

He married Maren Sofie "Mary" Jensen on January 2, 1888, in Rock Creek and they had six children in 21 years.

He died on January 6, 1943, in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the age of 80, and was buried in Hansen, Idaho, in the Magic Valley Veterans Memorial Cemetery. [1]
