Susanna Bemis (1713/14-1782), daughter of Joseph Bemis and Elizabeth Peirce, married John Viles. The older Susanna Bemis (1705) daughter of John Bemis and Mary Harrington), married Isaac Peirce. This is shown in wills of the respective fathers and documented in a note in the NEHGR in Nov 1947.

Hi, Nancyann. Thanks for your note on the profile of Joanna Quarles Smith. I connected Henry Smith's profile to the parents. Could you please supply a more complete reference citation for the book The Ancestry of Lorenzo Ackley & His Wife Emma Arabella Bosworth? (Publisher, location, date, and online availability, if any...)

Nancyann,

Thanks for the info about Susanna (Bemis) Viles. Although there really were (at least) two Susanna's, the death date for Susanna, daughter of Joseph Bemis and Elizabeth Peirce was clearly incorrect, and she isn't the one who married John Viles. I have removed her death date and am trying to find the correct info. Vic

Hi Nancyann,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
