He is named in the probate after his daughter Anne Jonsdatter Aspum, who died childless at Hanes nordre, Melum in 1694.[3]

A probate was held on 13 April 1699 at Aspum, Melum after the deceased Joen Laurssøn, who left the widow Sønnøf Laursdatter and his children of marriage to his former wife Guroe Nielsdatter:
