Knud Larssøn was born about 1615,[1] possibly in Hjørundfjord where he lived.
From 1634 Knud ran the farm at Leira in Hjørundfjord.[2] He must have married the widow of the previous owner, Nils Knutsson Leira, because Niels Nielsson is mentioned as his son (stepson) in the 1666 census. The 1696 probate after his son Jens Knudsen Leira also names Nils Knudsen[sic] Hustad as his brother.
In the 1666 male census, Knud Larssøn (age 53) was listed at Leere in Hjørundfjord.[1] He was listed with four sons: Niels Nielss. (40), Jens Knudss. (24), Anders Knudss. (12), and Peder Knudss. (7).
He passed away about 1675.[2]
