Ernst Josef Bertil (Larsson) Juneby was born on 19 Mar 1908 in Kristina, Jönköping, Jönköping, Sverige. His parents were Axel Emmanuel Larsson (1882 - 1918) and Elin Juliana (Petersson) Larsson (1882 - 1949). ^[1]

His brother was Karl Axel Herbert Larsson (1906 - 1991). ^[2]

From when he was born until he was married, Ernst was living in Kristina, Jönköping, Sweden with his brother and widowed mother. He changed his last name to Juneby on 18 Jan 1929. ^[3]

Ernst worked as an editor for a newspaper in Jönköping when he changed his name from Larsson to Juneby. He came up with the name Juneby. "June" comes from the creek Junebäck, which is believed to have given the name to the city Jönköping. ^[4] Then the last part "by", means village in Swedish.

Ernst married Maria Margareta Lindahl (1910 - 1993) on 10 Oct 1936. ^{[5] [6]}

Ernst died on 5 Oct 1979 in Gränna, Jönköping aged 71. He died of Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia. ^[8]

Redaktör Ernst Juneby, Jönköping, har avlidit i en ålder av 71 år. Han var född i jönköping och tjänstgjorde fram till pensioneringen vid Jönköpings-Posten. Tidigare hade han tjänstgjort på dåvarande länstidningen samt på Småland Folkblad och en tid även vid Såningsmannen i Stockholm. Dessutom har han redigerat Hälsoaktuellt och Vegetarianen. Han var mycket kunnig i esperanto, och under ett par år ledde han esperantokurser i Danmark. I ett tiotal år var han ordförande för journalistklubben på Jönköpings-Posten. Närmast sörjande är makan Margareta, sönerna Gunnar, ingenjör, och Bertil, läkare, båda Gränna, samt en bror. ^[9]
