Biography

Daniel Larzelere is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.

Daniel was born in 1757, the son of Jacob Larzelere and Alice Lake. He married Elizabeth Brazier, nine years his younger, in 1786. They moved with their children from New Jersey to Hopeton Mills, Yates, New York in 1796. He was a merchant in Hopeton. His wife Elizabeth died in 1799, leaving him a widower with 5 children. Henry, then his youngest son was adopted by Elijah Botsford.

Daniel moved to Geneva shortly after Elizabeth's death. He married a second wife, Mrs. Palmer, at Seneca Falls, and they had two sons, Hiram and Daniel. They moved to Geneva and later to Detroit where he was a merchant for some years. They later returned to Seneca Falls and then went again to Michigan with his son William and his family in 1836 and settled outside of Clinton. His wife returned to New York after Daniel died in 1842. (from Daniel's and Elizabeth's Find A Grave pages)

Larzelere-141 and Larzelere-52 appear to represent the same person because: duplicate 141 was set up.

Mehala Burrows was not the wife of Daniel. She was the first wife of William, his son.

On William's Find a Grave site, her name is spelled as Mehala Burroughs Larzelere (1796-1853).
