Biography

In the 1910 census Willie was 2 years old and living with his parents, Leaman N Lassiter and Avy Lassiter , and his sister Leo A Lassiter, age 6, and his brother Leonard U Lassiter, aged 3, in Post Oak, Cobb, Georgia, United States.[1]

In the 1920 census Willie was 11 and living with his parents and siblings in Merritts, Cobb, Georgia.[2]

In the 1930 census Willie was 21 and living with his parents and siblings in Side roads from upper Roswell Road, Merritts, Cobb, Georgia, United States.[3]

William married Mary Frances Miner on 15 January 1933 in Cobb, Georgia, United States.[4]

William registered for the WWII draft on 16 October 1940.[5] He was 33 years old, his father Leonard N Lassiter was his next of kin, and he was on a 12-month furlough from his employer, the Milledgeville State Hospital. The Milledgeville hospital (originally known as the Georgia State Lunatic, Idiot, and Epileptic Asylum[6] is now open to the public and its records are coming online.
