Margaret Joanne "Maggie" Latham was born in Jackson County, Alabama, United States on 3 October 1882. She was the daughter of Henry Latham and Mary Pace.[1] She appears in the 1900 census in Jackson County, Alabama in the household of Henry and Mary M Latham.[2]
She married Henry J Erwin on 19 April 1903 in Jackson County, Alabama.[3] They were still living in Jackson County in 1910 and had three children, Doris (4 yr), William (3 yr) and Ethel who had just been born.[4] By 1920, Maggie and Henry were living in Monroe County, Arkansas and had 5 children in the home: Dorcy (14 yr), John (12 yr), Ethel (10 yr), Earl (5 yr) and Ruby (4 yr).[5]
