son Joseph -- one dollar to be paid a year after my decease by sons William and Jonas
son William -- whole farm lately purchased of Amos & Isaac Avery of Preston and William and Margaret Avery of Stonington, known as the Jonas Avery farm and more lately the farm of Jabez Avery with part of my homestead farm adjoining; two thirds of my saw mill in Groton purchased of Capt. Ebenezer Lester; he to pay debts and legacies
son Jonas -- the rest of my homestead farm; one third of saw mill; yoke of oxen; he also to pay legacies
son Cyrus -- £50 after four years
son Asa -- £60 one month after age of twenty one; horse well worth £10
son Griswold -- £20 one month after age of twenty one
son Robert -- £20 one month after age of twenty one
son Darius -- £30 one month after age of twenty one
daughter Prudence Baley -- 20 s. one year after my decease
daughter Elizabeth Spicer -- 20 s. one year after my decease

Joseph died 2 Apr 1798 in Groton (now Ledyard), age 52.[1] His grave site is near or on the land he received of his father by his will, adjoining Capt. Fanning's farm.[2]
