Six years later, about 1864, their son William was born in Washington D.C. It was there that Mary was born around 1866. In ten years, the property of Charles increased in value fourfold to $2000. in real estate and $1000. in personal property. [5]
By 1880 they were living on Smith Street in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. [6] Twenty years later they were still living in Carbondale but had moved to 36 Garfield Avenue, a home that he owned without a morgage. Charles and Charlotte have been married for 51 years and 4 of their 5 children were living in 1900. He was an attorney. [3]
At 61 Charles was a publisher of a newspaper. They were still living on Garfield Avenue. [7]
