Biography

Adelbert Lathrop and his wife Delvina Claus raised Glenn S. Lathrop, son of Arthur M. Sheldon and Lydia Makee after the death of his mother soon after his birth. They also raised Florence "Floy" Jones Lathrop after the death of her siblings and her parents, Amelia Wilgus and Howard Patten Jones.

In the 1880 census in the Town of Eagle, Wyoming County, NY we find:

Adelbert Lathrop, age 39, butter manufacturer, born in NY, both parents born in Vermont

Delvina Lathrop, age 42, wife, keeping house, born in NY, both parents born in NY

Glenn S. Lathrop, age 10, son, attends school, born in NY, both parents born in NY

Florence A. Lathrop, age 5, daughter, attends school, born in NY, both parents born in NY^[1]
