Alexander Laundreaux was born on ~September 30, 1833 in Saint-Guillaume-d'Upton, Yamaska, Quebec, Canada.^{[citation needed]}

Per census records, he emigrated to the U.S. in 1849 or 1852.

Alexander married about 1870 a Dakota Sioux woman Mollie (1852 - ~1952).
