Kristen was born about 1580. He married Margreta Pedersdatter Trane, daughter of Peder Kristensen Trane and Karine Mikkelsdatter. (Margreta Pedersdatter Trane was born around 1583 in Stavanger and died about 1670 in Søyland, Nærbø.)
Children with Margrethe Pedersdatter Trane:
Kristen was a priest in Bø parish from around 1610. At that time Bø church in Nærbø was the main church in the parish. Beginning in 1613, he was a parish priest ("sogneprest") in Bø. Kristen received the parsonage farm ("prestegård") Hå for his and his wife's lifetime on 11 June 1637 and moved there either that year or the next. The move of the priest family meant that Njærheim church in Hå became the new main church, and the parish changed its name from Bø to Hå parish. He was parish priest in Hå until his death in 1640.[1][2] He also was a provost ("prost") for Jæren deanery ("prosti") from 1623 until after 1628.
According to https://www.geneapedia.org/?page=person&id=23381, Kristen was not the son of Karen Hansdatter Baad, but of Laurits Kristensen Lind's other wife (who may have been Margrethe Hansdatter).
