LAW, John Maxwell "MAX" 91, grove owner. Max Law passed away peacefully at home with his family on Oct. 17, 2013, in Land O' Lakes. Max was born on April 20, 1922 in Tampa to Max Well Law and Myra Wells Law. He attended local schools and was a 1941 graduate of Hillsborough High School. A WWII veteran, he entered the Army in 1942 and was in the 94th Bomb Group of the Mighty Eighth Air Force. Max was a waist gunner on a B-17 flying missions over Europe. On his 12th mission, with two engines out, his plane made an emergency landing in Switzerland where they were interred for almost a year. He married Betty Jameson on Feb. 10, 1946 in Tampa, and they moved to Pasco County where he lived for the remainder of his life. Max was a true native Floridian, he loved to hunt, fish, and go camping around the country with family and friends. He was a citrus grower and worked for Tropicana Products. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Land O'Lakes. He was truly one of the good guys and will be greatly missed. Max is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Betty; and 4 children, John, Don (Gail), Nancy Law, and Betsy (Mark) Lamoy all of Land O' Lakes; grandchildren include Amanda, Jennifer, William, Keith, Stacey, and Jamie; and 4 great-grandchildren; a sister Lomie Teague of Dade City; and a brother Herbert (Virginia) of Land O' Lakes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and 3 sisters, Maxine Pearson, Mary Weaver, and Ruby Abbott.
