Mary was born 3 October 1916 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of James Lawing and Nora Potts.[1] She was the wife of Noah Macon Ballard. She died 20 Oct 2001 in Catawba County, North Carolina, and was buried at the Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery in Catawba County.[2]
