Sarah was born about 1862.

There is an 1870 Census that shows a Sarah C Lawing, 8 years old (about 1862) born in Tennessee. Living in District 18, Washington Co., TN. Father Ambrose is 44, Sarah 39, William W. 16, Mary M. 14, John W. 10, Sarah C. 8, Anna A. 2, Daniel A. 4 months.

In the 1900 Census, there is a Sarah, 60 years old, living with daughter Sarah C. and Aaron Ingle. Ambrose is a gun smith, real estate born $1500, personal $471. He was born in NC, as was his wife. All the children were born in Tennessee. Neither parent can read or write.
