Michael Lawless was born about 18 July 1828 in Norboro, Prince Edward Island, son of Thomas Lawless (1796–<1881) and Helen Ahern (1790–<1847).

Michael died about 8 January 1915 in Norboro, Canada, aged 86.

DIED AT NORBORO.-The death took place at Norboro, Lot 25, on the 8th inst., of Mr Michael Lawless, in the 86th year of his age. Deceased was the last surviving son of the late Capt. Thomas Lawless, of New_London, who was well known who was well known in shipping circles half a century ago. He leaves a large family in the US, with the exception of a son and daughter. The funeral took place on the 10th inst to St James' Church and cemetery, Freetown. ^[17]
