Mary was born in 1848 toJohn Lawrence and Mary Sewell. She was named after her mother. Mary grew up in the Sugar Creek, Rushville, Missouri area with her five brothers and one sister.
In January of 1882 she married Mr. Martin Keller.[1] Mary Ellen and "Mart" had one daughter, Ethel Mary. Mary and Mart were married for 46 years when Mary passed away in 1928 at the age of 70. After Mary's passing Mart lived with his daughter and her family until he passed at the age of 86 in 1944. They are bot hlaid to rest at the Sugar
Creek Cemetery in Rushville, Missouri.
