Milton was born 23 July 1864 in Buchanan County, Missouri toJohn Lawrence and Mary Sewell. He grew up in the Sugar Creek - Rushville, Missouri area with his four brothers and two sisters. In November of 1887 he married Miss Margaret Ann Peel.[1] Margaret was a daughter of Benjamin and Lucy Jane Brown Peel. Together Milton and Margaret had the following children:
Milton and Margaret were married for 44 years when Margaret passed in 1932 at the age of 63. Milton lived on for another 22 years. He never remarried and lived with several of his children until he passed away in May of 1953 at the age of 88. At the time of his death he was the oldest native born resident of the Sugar Creek community. He and his wife are both laid to rest in the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Rushville, Missouri.
