Biography
Robert Lawrence was born in Gloucestershire, England.
Robert was born in 1628 and baptised at Temple Guiting, Gloucestershire on 17 Sep 1628. He was the son of Anthony Lawrence and Mary Broadway. [1]
In 1644 he received a bequest from his great-uncle and namesake Robert Lawrence of Sevenhampton. [2]
On 8 April 1650 he married Mary Rogers. Their marriage took place at Hazleton, Gloucestershire.[3] They had at least eight children:

- John (1654)
- Walter (1655)
- Elizabeth (1657)
- Rogers (1659)
- Mary (1661)
- Ann (1664)
He died on 19 Jun 1700 and was buried at Sevenhampton on 19 of that month. [4] His death is recorded on a brass plate in the church at Sevenhampton that reads The sacred remains of ROBERT LAWRENCE, gent aged LXXII (72) Late Lord of the Manor of Sevenhampton and Brockhampton. Reposited here June 19th MDCC His life on earth was pious, prudent, just. His soul's with God, his Body's here in trust.
