James Lawrence was of Thornbury Parish in Gloucestershire; he married Cecily Hilpe on September 5, 1569. She died in February 1573/4 and he married Anne Wishe in May of 1575. James died without leaving a will in March of 1609/10. Strong circumstantial evidence places him as the father of Joan Lawrence, wife of John Tayer. He was the godfather of John Tayer in 1591.
There were probably more children that those listed here.[1]
