Rose was born about 1868. Her parents were Cornelius and Sophia Lawrence, of Kent, England.
In the England and Wales Census, 1871 she is 3, and her parents are Cornelius (28) - agricultural labourer, Sophia (23) and her siblings are Sarah(5), Cornelius Henry John (newborn). They are living in North Aylesford, Northfleet [1]
On 16 April 1883 Rose Ellen Lawrence and Richard Morkam Bowden were married in New Zealand. [2]
