Roy George Lawrence was born on 15 Jul 1916 in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. He was the son of George James Lawrence and Ellen Gladys (Bates) Lawrence. [1]

He served in the Australian Army in World War 2. His service was the Middle East and then New Guinea. [2]

After the war he continued to serve in the Australian Regular Army until mid 1960 then led the team that installed the first computer for the TAB (Totaliser Agency Board - NSW).

He died on 5 Sep 1993 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
