Jonathan Lawrence enlisted as a soldier 1748 (King George's war). On 7-10-1748, while on a small party enroute between Northfield, MA and Ashulot, NH attacked by French and Indians in the vicinity of Fort Dummer. He lost everything of value; taken to Canada, sold to the French, who kept captives until 10-1 then released them to go home. Lived in Ashby. (1847, page 29) (1857, page 21).
