Biography

Charlotte Lawrence, daughter of George Lawrence, an agricultural labourer, and Ann Lodge, was born 12 December 1854 in South Weald, Essex. ^[1] She was baptised on 11 March in the parish church of St Peter. ^[2] She grew up in South Weald ^[3] before marrying James Partridge, a provision dealer, from Worcestershire on 25 December 1880 in Hackney, London. ^[4] They set up home in Walthamstow, Essex, ^[5] and had nine children. ^[6] By 1911, they were living at 32 Spruce Hills Road in Walthamstow. ^[7]

James died in the first quarter of 1921. Later that year, Charlotte was still living at 32 Spruce Hills Road, with her sister-in-law, Jane, her son, Wilfred, and her grandson, Sidney. ^[8] Charlotte died in Walthamstow in 1936. She was 81 years old. ^[9]
