AMONG the many early pioneers of this district who have lately passed over to the great majority may be mentioned. Mrs Dudgeon, Senior, relect of the late Mr Hugh Dudgeon, who died on Saturday last at the age of ninety-two years, after having lived for a period of 48 years in the Jamberoo district. Mrs. Dudgeon, with her husband a family, were among the frist to settle, in this district having arrived in the colony in August 1855, and on her arrival lived in Jerrara, near Mr. H. Fredericks' residence, From there she removed to Fountaindale, afterwards to Stoney Creek, and from thence to Hill View, where she remained till her death, She was a native at Ireland, being born near Enniskillen, in the County Fermanagh, in 1806, end had therefore the privilege of living under Kings and one Queen of England, she was married in 1834, and her family were all born in Ireland, Her maiden name was Prudence Lawson: and she was the only one of her family who migrated to Australia. Her family consists of three sons and three daughters, who all survive her. In addition to these, she leaves 47 grandchildren.and 21 great-grand-children to mourn their loss, She survived her husband by 18 years. She was always a strict follower of the Wesleyan Church, was always held in the highest esteem by those who knew her, and has left behind her a family
