Sarah, daughter of Thomas and Jane Lawson was christened at South Muskham, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kindom on 25th September 1842^[1].

In 1851 Sarah (aged 9, born Muskham) was living with her parents Thomas (50, an Agricultural Labourer, born Upton, Nottinghamshire) and Jane (48, born Winkbourn, Nottinghamshire) and siblings, Thomas (20), and Joseph (11, Agricultural Day Boy born Muskham), at South Muskham, Nottinghamshire. Also in the household lodgers Thomas and Ann Frost (from Hertfordshire), and their baby Thomas (born Stamford, Lincolnshire) ^[2].

There seem to be three Sarah Lawsons - have ordered the birth certificates to disambiguate these two: Sarah's birth was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1842 in the Southwell district.^[3]

There are two possible 1861 census entries (both with her born Muskham): On 7 April 1861 Sarah (age 19) was the unmarried servant of John Brown on The Town Street, North Muskham, Kneesal, Nottinghamshire, England.^[5] On 7 April 1861 Sarah (age 19), Domestic, was the unmarried servant of Robert Proctor in Newark Upon Trent, Newark, Nottinghamshire, England.^[6]

Th other Sarah Lawson was the daughter of Thomas, a labourer: On 30 March 1851 Sarah (age 9), Agricultural work, was the daughter of Thomas Lawson in Little Carlton, South Muskham, Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England.^[7]
