Obituary: Barrie Examiner, 29 Jan 1948, p. 8 The death of Andrew Lawson in Toronto, Wednesday, January 14, 1948 removed a well known resident of Flos and Elmvale. He had been in failing health for some time. The funeral service held at Bishop's Funeral Home on Friday, was conducted by Rev. W.C. Stubbs and interment made in the family plot in Elmvale cemetery. The pallbearers were E. Whitfield of Toronto, Frank Vollick, W. Draper, E.W. Campbell, W. Archer and H. Spring of Elmvale. Among the beautiful floral tributes were those from Massie-Renwick Ltd. Toronto, Oakwood Hotel and Martin-Schnaufer Ltd., Toronto. Mr. Lawson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Lawson. He was born in 1861 and farmed at Crossland until he retired in 1921 and moved to Elmvale and spent most of the past two years in Toronto with his son and daughter. His wife passed away in November 1945. Left to mourn are one son, Earl and one daughter, Mrs. J. M. Hendrick (Irene) Both of Toronto.
