Biography
When Martha Ann Lawson was born on June 14, 1886, in Davis, Iowa, her father, James, was 41, and her mother, Martha, was 37. She married Murl Ray Black on March 4, 1916, in Des Moines, Iowa. They had one child during their marriage. She died on May 11, 1938, in Yellowstone, Montana, at the age of 51, and was buried in Billings, Montana.
