Rebecca Lawson was born on 17th January 1813 at Veteran's Hall, Prospect, New South Wales, Australia. She was the eldest daughter of Lieutenant William Lawson, noted explorer and Veteran's Corps officer, and Sarah Leadbeater, a time-expired convict.[1]
She married James Bettington on 7th June 1830 in Christ Church Church of England (Anglican Church), Castlereagh.[2]
Rebecca Bettington died on 25 February 1882 at San Francisco: Death notice.[3]
She was "late of Oaklands, near Parramatta", according to probate.[4]
