Biography

Ellen was born in 1891. She was the daughter of James Lawson and Ellen Lloyd. ^[1]

In 1916, when her sister Elizabeth (Jane) was married, Nellie was the bridesmaid. ^[2] She was also noted as the next of kin (Miss Nellie Lawson) on the Enlistment papers of her brother Alexander Brown Lawson in 1916. ^[3]

Ellen married Herbert Alfred Wood in 1917 at Marrickville. ^[4]

She passed away in 1950 at Manly at the age of 59. ^{[5] [6]}

Not Ellen (Helen) Lamond Lawson daughter of James Lawson and Ellen McPherson, born at Hartley in 1881, who married William Duffield. These two individuals are frequently confused on online trees.
