Reuben Lax was born in 1871 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He was the son of Reuben Lax and Eliza Harris.[1]
Reuben was a labourer who spent some of his earlier years at Gympie. The Gympie Times and Mary River Miners Gazette published his lone application for 2 acres of land in Langton's Gully, but it is unknown whether he, was granted the lease. However, he did hold land in the county of Stanley, Parish Enoggera, but unfortunately this site revealed he owed rates and the land was up for sale.
An ambulance was called on 2 July 1942 to his address where he paid board to his land lady Mrs Smith. It was thought that Reuben had died in his bed and that was found to be true after the inquiry was held 18 August 1942.
He passed away in 1942 in Brisbane.[2]
