DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Benjamin:
I found that Benjamin Lax, son of William and Susannah Lax of Halifax, had at least one more child, because there was also a son called Benjamin. Both (Benjamin Sr. and Benjamin Jr.) appear on the 1798 Halifax County personal property tax roll. There are at least several Benjamin Lax/Lacks alive at the end of the 1700s/beginning of the 1800s, The one I'm trying to find was born in Halifax Co, VA in 1797.
