Biography

Ann was born in 1830, to John and Ann Lay in Burford, Oxfordshire.

In the 1841 census she is living with her family (parents and two siblings) in the High Street, East Side, Burford.

In the 1851 census she is is with John and Elizabeth Clinch in Little Faringdon. This is just over the river from Lechlade, so is most probably where she met William Spicer. Interestingly she was also recorded in the 1841 census as being with John and Elizabeth - it was possible to be recorded more than once.

Ann married William in 1852^[1], but they don't appear to have had any children from the 1871 and 1881 census.

She passed away in 1882.
