Seneca Falls Couple Notes Golden Wedding
Seneca Falls--A family dinner at The Armitage Sunday marked the observance of the 15th [should be 50th] wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lay of the Tyre rd., north of here.
Mr. and Mrs. Lay were married Nov. 18, 1896 at the home of Mrs. Lay's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley King, north of here. The Rev. E. H. Dickson, D.D., pastor of the Presbyterian Church, now of Sheldrake performed the ceremony.
Following the dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Lay entertained at open house. Among the guests were Eugene Lay, Mrs. Bertha Vreeland and Mrs. Bertha Wilson of Seneca Falls who attended the wedding a half century ago.
The Lays have three sons. Howard Lay of Rochester; Willis and Harold Lay of Seneca Falls and five grandchildren.
Mr. Lay is engaged in farming and both he and Mrs. Lay are active members of Seneca Grange.
