Family Vault Inscription[2]
It is that of the old historical family of Pitt. Their vault has quite a number of epitaphs inscribed upon it, including those of Thomas Matchem Pitt, died 28th January, 1821, aged 39 years; Elizabeth, his wife, died 1st January, 1835, aged 39 years; Thomas Matchem, eldest son of George Matchem and Julia Pitt and grandson of the above, died 19th Nov., 1836, aged 3 months; William Henry, third son of the above, died 25th June, 1851, aged 15 years; and George Matcham Pitt, born 16th Feb., 1814, died 12th Oct. 1896.'
