Earl was born with a twin they named Eral who died as an infant. My father said that Earl died from what he recalled the family referring to as Muscular Dystrophy.

[Miner Gilmer LAYMAN] and Clara HANCOCK. The child died due to "epiletic paralysis". {Note that the county of his death was likely Randall, rather than Castro.}
