Biography

Isaac Layne was a Tennessean.

Isaac Layne was born on 25 September 1809 in Sequatchie County, Tennessee, United States, son of John Layne (1768–~1840) and Barbara DeVault (1770–1860).

He married his first wife, Mary ---, about 1829 in Tennessee. Their children were:

  1. Elizabeth
  2. Sarah
  3. Martha
  4. Peggy Ann[1]
  5. Barbary
  6. Malvina
  7. Fanny [2]
  8. Daniel[3]

On 18 March 1870, he married Delphia Fults in Grundy County, Tennessee.[4][5]

By 1880 he was married to Mary A. _____.[6]

Isaac (82) married Mary Victoria Dempsey nee Mayhew (42) on 24 October 1891 in Sequatchie, Tennessee.[7] Their son was Isaac Layne (1893–1959).[8]

He died on 22 December 1900 in Grundy County, Tennessee, aged 91.[citation needed]
