Biography
Robert was born in 1839 in Wayland, Norfolk, the son of Isaac Layt and Charlotte (Caney) Layt.[1]
1841 Census on the 6th June 1841 Robert was living at Heath Farm, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his parents Isaac, and Charlotte, his step-brothers James shown as Henry, and John.[2]
1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Robert was living at Heath Farm, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his parents Isaac and Charlotte, his step-brother John, and his siblings William, Alfred, Jane, Margaret and Edward.[3]
1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Robert was living at Heath Farm, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his parents Isaac and Charlotte, and his siblings William, Alfred, Jane and Edward.[4]
1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Robert was living at Heath Farm, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his parents Isaac and Charlotte, and his sister Margaret. His niece Edith Layt was also living there.[5]
Robert married Ann Osborn and the marriage was registered in the 4th quarter 1875 in Wayland, Norfolk.[6]
1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Robert a pork butcher, was living in Chapel Road, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his wife Ann, and their children Matilda and Wilfred. Ann's parents James Osborn and Matilda were living next door.[7]
1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Robert a butcher, was living at Northacre, Caston, Norfolk with his wife Ann.[8]
1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Robert a butcher and grocer, was living in Stow Road, Stow Bedon, Norfolk with his wife Ann, and their children Matilda and Wilfred. Ann's mother Matilda a widow, was also living there.[9]
1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Robert a shopkeeper and butcher, was living in Stow Bedon, Attleboro, Norfolk with his wife Ann, and their daughter Matilda.[10]
Robert died age 83 in 1922 in Wayland, Norfolk.[11]
