Biography

Marie Aucoing femme Michel LeBlanc absent is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 7-Left, La Bergere. Listed with her are two daughters: Marie Josephe Le Blanc and Apolline Eulalie.[1]

Marie Josephe was born in 1760. She was the daughter of Michel LeBlanc and Marie Aucoin. [2]

5 August 1785 : Immigration - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[3]

The mother died during the voyage.
Marie Josèphe LEBLANC, age 25, daughter of (absent) Michel LEBLANC & Marie AUCOIN, age 48, traveling with her mother and sister as the 4th family (of 3 persons) aboard "La Bergère."

20 August 1785 : Legal Suit - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[4]

On 20 Aug 1785, in folios 28 of Legajo 604A:
Maria Josefa LEBLANC, Acadian arrived in the expedition of the French frigate "Bergere," had the misfortune of losing her mother during the voyage and should now be noted as head of household in place of her late mother, Maria AUCOING.

Married 20 April 1786, St. James, St. James, LA, to Charles GAUDETCatholic Church Records, vol. 2, 1770-1803 - Diocese of Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge, LA, 1980; pp. 306-307 & 476

Carlos GODE, son of Clod & Cathalina FORE of Acadia, married on 20 Apr 1786 to Maria Josepha LEBLANC of England, daughter of Miguel & Maria COA [sic, should be AUCOIN]. Witnesses: Juan GODE; Francisco UBRE. Recorded at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, LA (SJA-2, 2).

She passed away before 4 August 1794 when her husband remarried.[5]
