Biography

Charles LeBlanc, Magdeleine Gotreau and their daughter Margueritte Le Blanc are on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana, Plaque 10 Left Le Saint Remi. (Suplement a la liste des Acadiens embarques dans le navire le St Remy pour la nouvelle-orleans.) [1]

Marguerite Genevieve was born in 1765 at St. Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine, France. She was baptised at Saint-Servan. She was the daughter of Charles LeBlanc and Marie Madeleine Gautrot. She passed away after 1799.[2][3]

10 September 1785 : Immigration - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[4]

Marguerite LEBLANC, age 18, was one of the 4th family on "Additional list of Acadians" embarked on the ship "Le Saint Rémi" on 27 Jun 1785, arrived at New Orleans, LA on 10 Sep 1785. She traveled with her parents, whose ages are given as 67 and 68.

[She married 2½ months later to a man who had debarked from "L'Amitié'" on 8 Nov 1785.]
On p. 63, her marriage on 20 Nov 1785 to Augustin DUHON, son of Honoré & Anne TRAHAN (62nd family on "Le Saint Rémi" [sic, they were the 59th on "L'Amitié'"] was noted as arranged by Navarro. Marguerite died "at the hospital" .

4 December 1785 :Marriage (with Augustin Marie DUON) - New Orleans, Orleans, LA.[5][6]
