Cécile LeBlanc was born about 1686, probably after the 1686 census in Grand-Pré, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, daughter of Jacques LeBlanc (abt. 1651–aft. 1731) and Catherine Hébert (abt. 1656–aft. 1714) according to Stephen White, who names her as just Cécile.[1]
In 1693, at Minas, Genevieve [recte Cecile], aged 9 [recte 7], lived with her parents, Jacques LeBlanc, aged 42, and Caterine [sic] Hebert, aged 32, and her ten siblings: Jean, aged 19, Jacques, aged 17, Marie, aged 15, Antoine [recte Pierre], aged 13 [recte 9], Anne, aged 11, Caterine [sic], aged 11, Madeleine, aged 7, Francois, aged 5, Pierre [recte Bernard], aged 3, and Ignace, aged 1. The family owned 1 gun and lived on 11 arpents of cultivable land with 12 cattle, 6 sheep, and 6 pigs.[2][1]
Around 1708, Michel and Cécile founded the village des Michel (in present-day Port Williams / Starr's Point, NS) that bears his name.[3]
In 1714 they appeared on the census taken at Rivière-des-Habitants (Les Mines) with 1 son and 3 daughters.[4]
She died in 1731. (date of death was omitted in register). She was buried on 26 May 1731 in Grand-Pré.[5][6]

In the original 1693 census at Minas, Jacques was listed as Jaques, Catherine was listed as Caterine, Pierre was listed as Antoine, Cecile was listed as Genevieve, Madeleine was listed as Mdle and transcribed as Madeleine, and Bernard was listed as Pierre. According to Stephen White, Anne, aged 11, was listed in this census, but her name did not appear in the transcription or the original census.
