Biography

Jean LeBlanc was born about 1684 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of André LeBlanc (abt. 1659–1743) and Marie Dugas (1667–1734).[1][2]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Jean, aged 2, was living with his parents, André LEBLANC, aged 26, and Marie DUGAS, aged 19. André was working on the paternal land at Port-Royal. Later that same year, André moved his family to Grand-Pré where he owned his land and a farm.[3]

CENSUS: 1693, Les Mines, Acadia, age 8 years.[2]

Jean (19) married Jeanne Bourgeois (16) (born about 1687 in Port-Royal; daughter of Guillaume Bourgeois and Marie Anne (De Martignon) d' Aprendestiguy) on 25 Jan 1704 in Port Royal, Acadie.[1][4] Their known children were:

  1. Jean LeBlanc (1703–1779) .
  2. Joseph (Leblanc) LeBlanc (abt. 1709–abt. 1756) .
  3. Marie LeBlanc (1711–aft. 1763) .
  4. Pierre LeBlanc (abt. 1715–1759) .
  5. Sylvain (Le blanc) LeBlanc (1719–1756) .
  6. Claude (Le Blanc) LeBlanc (1723–1800) .
  7. Marguerite (Le Blanc) LeBlanc (1724–1756) .
  8. Francois LeBlanc (1726–bef. 1760) .
  9. Marie Josephe LeBlanc (1729–1773) .
  10. Anne Marie LeBlanc (1732–1812)

Jean died before 1754 in Acadie, aged about 70.[2]
