Laura Lucinda Leach is the daughter of Jonas M and Polly Ann Leach ^[1][2].

Laura was born on 8 Sep 1860 in McClennan, Texas ^[3]

Laura married Francis Asberry Knowles on 29 Nov 1877 in Hunt, Texas ^[4]. Together, Francis and Laura had 5 children. William is shown on the 1880 census ^[5]. Since Francis died in 1891 and the 1890 census does not exist, we had to look to Laura for the other children. In 1900 she is living with her mother, Polly, and sister , Nancy, and four of her children. James Edward Knowles was no longer living at home at that time ^[6]
