THAMES STAR, VOLUME LVII, ISSUE 15838, 18 MAY 1923, PAGE 5 - WEDDING. LEACH - MCCONNELL. A quiet but very pretty wedding took place at Turua on Thursday at the residence of Mr. and Mrs J. McConnell, Hauraki Road, when Mr. Archie McConnell, forth son of Mr. and Mrs J. McConnell was married to Miss Dulcie Vera Leach, eldest daughter of Mrs W. Leach, of South Africa. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Milne, of Thames. The bride, who was given away by Mr. J. McConnell, looked charming in a coat frock of niger brown garbadine trimmed with old gold braid and hat to match. The bridesmaid, Miss McConnell (sister of the bridegroom) wore a coat frock of navy blue serge trimmed with black braid and steel buttons and black hat with red poppies. Mr. J. McConnell Jnr., acted as best man. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs J. McConnell entertained their friends to afternoon tea at their residence. Many toasts were proposed and responded to with enthusiasm. Later the happy couple left by motor for Te Aroha. The presents were numerous and beautiful and encluded many cheques.
