Leaders vs. Team Members

Here are notes on the distinction between WikiTree Project Leaders and WikiTree Team members.

Project Leaders

WikiTree has no full-time staff. It is a very decentralized organization. Almost everything is done by volunteer community members. This includes many aspects of leadership and administration.

Foremost among the volunteers are WikiTree Project Leaders.

Team Members

There are some things that do need to be done by official representatives of the organization.

In particular, there need to be sysops (system operators/administrators) who have access to private account information. In exchange for taking on this extra responsibility, these sysops are given small stipends.
