Frank was born in Balkholme, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised nearby in Howden in 1822. He was the son of Thomas Leak and Tamar Bell.[1]
At the time of the 1841 census Frank (known as Francis) lived at Benetland in the parish of Eastrington, Yorkshire, where he worked as an agricultural labourer.[2]
He married Hannah Shipley in Blacktoft, Yorkshire, in 1845.[3][4] The family lived in Balkholme where Francis was a farm labourer.[5]
Frank died in Balkholme in 1853 at the age of 30. He was buried in Howden.[6]
