  • FAMILY BIBLE of Mary BOSTICK:

The Family Bible of Mary BOSTICK the wife of William Leake who was the Immigrant Ancestor of the Goochland Branch of the Leake Family has been preserved and in possession of Miss Sue Howard Leake of Richmond, Virginia. The date of printing of this Bible appears to be 1495 but most likely 1595. The Title page bears this inscription: "Imprinted at London by the Deputies of Christopher Barker, Printer to the Queenes most excellent Majestie" The fly leaf of this Bible has these notations written: "We have been in America one year 25 May 1686" "Mary Bostick her Booke given by her Grandfather Mary Bostick" "William Leak his Booke March 25, 1705" and lastly "Josiah Leak his Booke 1751" Bottom of page: This proves the William Leake married Mary BOSTICK and that they came to Virginia on 25 May 1685. It is probable they were married after they came to the colony. Page 7 Chapter II The Leake family and connecting lines. Early Virginia period. [3]

Leake-655 and Leake-25 appear to represent the same person because: Not sure about Susannah Leake Campbell being his daughter? Sources needed for her existence as his daughter. She may be detached from this family later.

Maggie,

Thank You for contacting me regarding Leake-655 and Leake-25. I checked my tree and I have no Susannah LEAKE Campbell. I agree with You that these two profiles represent the same person, but Susannah LEAKE Campbell probably should be detached from this family. I will leave it at your discretion. Carole

Leake-182 and Leake-25 appear to represent the same person because: Same everything
