Biography

Annette 'Nettie' Leavitt was born in 1852 in West Virginia, the daughter of Samuel Quarles Leavitt and Elizabeth L Moore.

She married William Alex Gunter on 13 Jun 1869. They were the parents of two known children:

1. Violetta S 'Lettie' Gunter b. 27 Apr 1870 @ Lubeck, West Virginia, d. 22 Mar 1937 @ Charleston, West Virginia;
2. Thomas Houston Gunter b. 20 May 1873 @ Elk River, West Virginia, d. 22 Feb 19*58 @ Charleston, West Virginia.

Nettie died in 1920 and is buried at the Hall Cemetery, Big Chimney, West Virginia. Her memorial stone is engraved with the name "Mettie" rather than "Nettie".
